Frostbite by Richelle Mead bookreview

Frostbite is the breathtaking sequel to addictive Vampire academy by Richelle Mead

Rose Hathaway’s got serious guy trouble .Her gorgeous tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else , her friend Mason has a huge crush on her , and she keeps getting stuck inside her best friend Liss’s head while she’s making out with her boyfriend , Cristian.

Then a massive Stigoi attack puts St .Vladmir’s on high alert , and the Academy crawls with guardians -including the legendary Janine Hathaway…Rose’s formidable, long- absent mother .The strigoi are closing in , and the Academy’s not taking any risks .This year , St.Vlad’s holiday ski trip is mandatory.

But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only provide the illusion of safety. When three students run away to strike back against the deadly Stigoi , Roze muat join forces with Christian to rescue them .Only this time , Rose -and her heart -are in more danger than she could ever imagine…

The main character Rose continue to be as witty and hilarious as she was in the first book which I really enjoyed , as most books that have unique and funny characters generally lose their sense of originality after the first book as the novelty wears off.We follow Rose as she tries to ignore her off limits tutor Dimitri and failing hopelessly as she tries to distract herself with Mason….MASON . I know a lot of people loved Mason as he was the sweet and innocent love interest for Rose but….I found Mason to be quite clingy and jealous even when they were just friends! Her continues to be a frustrating character by trying to “play ” the hero the whole time , although Rose’s narration made it more enjoyable.

In the first book we were told whispers about Rose’s mom the mysterious Janine but I found her to be a lot less intimidating than Rose pictured her , “strong warrior and the ultimate defender” and then we meet her and I found the contrast quite halarious.I actually loved the mother daughter conflict as it was just entertaining to see them battle it off because they had similar personality’s.

Even though the characters are at a ski resort because of an attack I really enjoyed seeing a carefree and relaxed Rose …at least for a little while. We got to see her hang out with Lisa have some good time with Mason and generally have a great time .Then the hero of the hour Mason comes to the rescue and drags the whole crew on a vampire hunting trip …fun!As I dont want to spoil the book completely let’s just say it was eventful to say the least.

This book definitely lived up to my expectations as I got to see Rose develop as a person..mostly .We also got to see so many new characters like Adrian , Janine and Tasha.Even though Adrian is pictured to be the “villian” I could see home to become a majour player down through the series .We seen Lissa move forward in her adorable relationship with Christain and had the usual battles with Mia(obviously).

Overall I cannot wait to read shadowkiss the third book in this fonamanal series and please let me know your thought in the comments
